Here’s the recipe for Kidney-Friendly Energy Bites. These are super easy to throw together, and they make a great snack for when you’re short on time. They can also help you meet your fiber goal for the day since one energy bite has 4 grams of fiber. Most ingredients are probably already in your kitchen cabinet or easy to find at your local grocery store.
Kidney-Friendly Energy Bites
Ingredients (Makes 12 servings)
1 cup old fashioned oats
1/2 cup ground flaxseed meal
2 Tbsp chia seeds
1/4 cup mini chocolate chips
1/2 cup all natural peanut butter
1/4 cup maple syrup
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1 tsp vanilla extract
-Mix all ingredients together in a large bowl until well combined.
-Form 12 evenly-sized energy bites.
-Let the energy bites set in the fridge for about an hour before enjoying.
